Cosmopolitan Estate Agents (CEA) recognises the importance of protecting the privacy of individuals, and hence this page describes how CEA collects and manages personal information.
The term “personal information” is any information that can be used to personally identify someone. This may include a name, address/s, telephone number/s, email address/s, fax number/s, age or birth date, profession, occupation / job title, government identification details, and any other information relating to that person that is provided to CEA directly.
CEA may also collect personal information from third parties including: credit reporting agencies; law enforcement agencies and government entities; other representatives (lawyers, accountants and financial advisers); employer/s; and/or publicly available sources of information, or other organisations where individuals have given consent.
CEA only collects personal information so that we can perform our business activities and functions, in the aid of providing the best possible quality of customer service. Hence, we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the following purposes: to provide products and services and to send communications requested; to answer enquiries and provide information or advice about existing and new products or services; to provide updated personal information to our real estate agents and employees or service providers; to update our records and keep contact details up to date; to comply with any law, rule, regulation, lawful and binding determination, decision or direction of a regulator, or in co-operation with any government authorities.
Personal information will not be shared, sold, rented, or disclosed other than as described in this Privacy Policy. CEA may disclose personal information to: our employees, contractors, and/or service providers for the purposes of operation of our business, fulfilling requests by the person, and to otherwise provide products and services to the person.
CEA may send direct marketing communications and information about our products and services that we consider may be of interest to the person. These communications may be sent in various forms, including traditional mail/post, text message, fax, and/or email. If the person indicates a preference for a method of communication, CEA will endeavour to use that method whenever practical to do so. In addition, the person may opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by contacting us (see the details below) or by using opt-out facilities (if provided in the marketing communications) and we will then ensure that the person’s name is removed from our mailing list.
The person may request access to any personal information CEA holds about them at any time by contacting us. We will try to provide them with suitable means of accessing the information held (for example, by mailing or emailing it to the person). There may be instances where CEA cannot grant the person access to the personal information held, eg. if granting access would interfere with the privacy of others, or if it would result in a breach of confidentiality. If that happens, we would outline the reasons for refusing to grant access to their personal information.
If a person believes that personal information CEA holds about them is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, then they may request us to amend it. If they believe that privacy has been breached, they should contact our Principal (Mr Dean Drakos) using the contact information below, and provide details of the incident so that CEA can investigate it.
We may disclose personal information to our third party suppliers and service providers located for some of the purposes listed above. We take reasonable steps to ensure that these recipients of personal information do not breach the privacy obligations relating to a person’s personal information.
As our website is posted on the internet (which is inherently insecure), we cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of transmission of information communicated online. We also cannot guarantee that the information supplied will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the internet (eg. emails). Accordingly, any personal information or other information which is transmitted to us online is transmitted at the person’s own risk.
Our website may contain links to other websites operated by third parties. We make no representations or warranties in relation to the privacy practices of any third party website, and we are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of any third party website. These third-parties are responsible for informing persons about their own privacy practices.
Questions or concerns about this privacy policy should be directed to Dean Drakos (our principal). Please use the “contact us” page to get a hold of Dean.
